Seniors lose by a point to Lucan
AFL1 Lucan Sarsfields 1-14 St Sylvesters 1-13 Excellent first half, very mixed second half and a hungrier Lucan snatched it in the end. We started like we meant business, led by 6 to 2 but missed a number of points also, Lucan came into the game for a while but we finished out the half with a goal to lead 1-06 to 0-04 at the break.
Lucan's half backs and midfield took over for a long part of the second half. We did get a grip for about 10 minutes but didn't score enough, a goal effort by Eoin Fanning after a neat move but well saved by the diving Lucan keeper. Robbie Wallace did the same for us at the other end, one particularly brave save thwarting Lucan. They did eventually break us down and a good point from the sideline won it for them.
Hot and cold again from our lads, hope we are more consistent on Thursday when Raheny will surely take it to us. Looks like we may also need to beat Ballyboden to qualify for the League playoffs.
