Seniors over the first hurdle
Syls too hot for Towers to handle - from hill16.ie
St Sylvester’s corner-forwards Louth senior Darren Clarke and former
Dublin minor Aidan Relihan proved too hot to handle as the Malahide men
accounted for the challenge of Tower’s in this Evening Herald Dublin SFC
first round clash at Balgriffin on Thursday night.
Clarke kicked seven points (including three frees) over the course of the hour
while the first half goal from Relihan saw Syls lead 1-6 to 0-4 at the
interval.
Two minutes into the second half Eoin Fanning fisted a delivery from Ross
Hazley to the net to give them a commaning position.
Tower’s battled to the finish with John O’Brien’s accuracy
from placed balls keeping the scoreboard ticking over while Derek Murray drove
his side on at every opportunity.
