Seniors win over Na Fianna
AFL1 St Sylvesters 2-17 Na Fianna 0-11 Very impressive win over Na Fianna with pretty solid contributions throughout the field. An early point by Glenn Hazely was a sign of things to come when Glenn followed immediately with another overlap to setup Michael McCarthy for a tap in goal. Aido found his range after a few early misses, Ross and Bracken regained control in the middle after a few quiet minutes and we led 1-10 to 0-06 at the break.
Mark Brennan replaced Relihan (who had shipped a hefty challenge) at the break and along with Russy started pulling the strings. Na Fianna did peg us back to five points but we let loose with another goal from Nigel, a few wonderful points also from the Offalyman, Darren his usual contribution and Jockser with a long range effort.
Glenn laid down the marker with a few sallies forward but he also looked after the lively Tom Brady defensively.
Good win going into a short and well deserved break.
