Seniors win - stay top of Division 1
AFL1 St Sylvesters 1-10 Erins Isle 0-8 We led from start to finish, never really looked threatened but never really killed off the game until the last few minutes. Seven points to four at the break we opened up a good lead with a cleverly worked goal (no square ball - and Ciaran Goan stood his ground) by Aiden Relihan and a typical Jockser point to lead by seven.
WE went to sleep for the next twenty minutes and Isles pulled back four. We finished out with a nice points from Gary Sweeney and Darren Clarke but the rest was pretty uninspiring.
I believe we won an excellent 80 minute game up at Clontibret on Monday and have another in Rooscommon on Friday so the lads are clearly trying to get it together for the business end of the season.
Clear at the top of division 1 - NOT TOO SHABBY LADS.
