St Sylvester’s club notes 18th May

Our senior footballers got through the back door at the expense of Whitehall in the championship by 1-8 to 7 points. The intermediates unfortunately lost by 5 points to St Pats and it was a draw for the juniors, the game finished 0-15 to 2-09. After many years of hard work, Martín Meeney left his hallmark on the under 16 hurlers. Ernie Brenner and Colm O’Connor have now added their stamp.

They all went home pleased with a very good win over St Vincent’s on Thursday. The under 15 hurlers had a handsome victory over in Ballinteer. Féile hurling will take place next Saturday in Faughs.

Faughs provide the opposition in Broomfield for next Wednesday’s hurling championship clash at 7.30 pm.

The under 14 girls enjoyed a sweet victory over Féile champions Ballyboden. The street leagues start this week with Dublin as favourites to beat Kerry and set a trend for the summer.

As part of that effort, Dublin play Mayo in Naomh Mearnóg on Friday 22nd at 8.00 pm. Don’t miss out on our own minor stars playing for Dublin in the Leinster quarter final against Laois on Saturday 23rd of May at 2pm also in Naomh Mearnóg.
