St Sylvester’s GAA CLUB NOTES 14TH October

Leinster Intermediate Club Championship Semi-final:

St. Sylvester's 1 – 16 Tinahely 3 – 6

The ladies took a step closer to Leinster glory by beating Tinahely of Wicklow in a nail biting encounter at Broomfield on Sunday afternoon. They dominated possession, as reflected in the number of scores for each side. Having been trailing for most of the match, Sylvester’s went ahead with around ten minutes to go, got to what seemed like a safe lead of four points, only for Tinahely to pull it back to a point with their third goal. With a minute to go, Sylvesters got back to four points with a classic Aherne goal made by an inch perfect pass from Anne Clarke. The final whistle came as a great relief.

Minor Football A championship St Sylvesters 2-5 Ballyboden 1-8

Sylvester’s didn’t score for the first twenty minutes but they managed to level the scores by half time at 5 points each. The game could have gone either way in the second half with both teams showing great spirit and determination.

The big game this week is the senior football championship quarter final against Kilmacud Crokes in Parnell Park on Wednesday October 17th at 7.15. Mouth-watering.
