St Sylvesters Hurling Camp July 2011
Another successful Hurling Camp for u10 to u14with participants from St Sylvesters, Skerries Harps, O'Dwyers and Trinity Gales has just concluded. We were delighted to have two inter county players Shane Ryan (Nh Mearnog) and David O'Callaghan (St Marks) both who played in Croke Park v's Kilkenny in the Leinster final last Sunday, to deliver the camp.
The emphasis was on skill
development, short games with passing movements - all drills used by the
Dublin squad at their training sessions.
The skills competition at u10/11 was won by Mathew Dooley
(Skerries) and Eoin Buckley, the prize was a signed Dublin jersey and
hurley. The u12/13 was won by Eamonn McLoughney with Daniel Murphy a
very close second, the prize was the No. 4 Kilkenny jersey from the
Leinster final worn by Jackie Tyrell and swapped with Dotsy at the end
of the game, thanks Dotsy.
Thanks
to Colm O'Connor for organising the camp, to Panner our club coach and to
Stephen, Derek and Kevin from our minor panel for helping out. Special word of
thanks also to our sponsors Leahy & Co. Chartered Accountants. Well done to
all for a fun and enjoyable week.
