We said this game was going to be a cracker, and on Wednesday evening in Broomfield, that is exactly what we got. Games between the Syls girls and Thomas Davis are always hard fought tight affairs and it was only 2 points that separated the teams, in Syls favour, after 60 minutes.
We played against a stiff breeze in the first half and struggled to feed our forward line with any consistency. Davis had the bulk of the possession and racked up a string of finecc points leaving us trail 9 points to 3 at the break.

We knew we had a lot more in the tank and having conceded no goals against the breeze we knew we would have a right go in the 2nd half. Aimee and Sinead Tracey got lots more possession in the middle and started to feed more ball to our forward line. Nicole got a fine point followed by a Sinead Aherne goal. Then a came a 10 minute spell of sheer class from Nicole Owens that was a sight to behold. Three cracking goals, one buried into the top corner, one fisted to the net and the last, a volley to the roof of the net, that would have been akin to a 'Lionel Messi' strike.

The girls closed out the game from here, with hard defending and good possession football to win by 4-5 to 1-12.

We now top the group and a victory away to Man O War next Wednesday will secure our place in the championship Semi- Final.

Well done girls.
