Syls seniors join Inters and Junior 1 teams in Cup Finals:

St. Sylvesters 1 - 13 St Judes 1 - 08: I stand corrected, however I believe this is the first time in the clubs history that 3 Adult football teams will contest 3 Cup Finals in the same year. This was a low scoring game in the first half, with both teams settling well matching one another score for score. However the game took a turn in Syls favour when A Relihan finished to the back of the Jude's net to take a 3 point lead at the break.

Jude's, aided by the wind in the second half reduced the deficit to one, however some well taken points from Darren and Michael saw Syls maintain their 3 point advantage. The game took another turn, this time in Jude's favour when they were awarded a penalty which they duly converted to level the scores.

This score seemed to increase the intensity in Syls game, as from that point on they took control of the game with and ended up winning by 5 points, with two notable scores from Darren (long range free) and Ronan Walsh (solo effort from half back line). Management introduced all 5 subs which had a positive impact on the game, particularly Alan Foy.

Let's hope all three teams go on to bring home the bacon, starting with the Inters who take on Plunkett's in the Joy Cup Final tonight, throw in 7.15 pm, Army grounds, Phoenix Park (opposite entrance to the Zoo). All support welcome.
