Sylvesters join elite band

It was a bit of a topic in the club after the hurlers win last Saturday so Mick Stuart compiled the following: This year, 2012, there are 39 clubs with Senior status in one or both of hurling and football.  (Senior status is determined by Championship; Senior B hurling has been included).  Of these, 16 have dual senior status, that is, in both hurling and football.  They are:
  1. Ballinteer St Johns
  2. Ballyboden St Endas
  3. Erins Isle
  4. Kilmacud Crokes
  5. Lucan Sarsfields
  6. Na Fianna
  7. Naomh Mearnog
  8. O Tooles
  9. Parnells
  10. Raheny
  11. St Brigids
  12. St Judes
  13. St Marks
  14. St Oliver Plunketts ER
  15. St Vincents
  16. Thomas Davis

St Sylvesters will join this select band next year.

If you take Ladies football into account, there are just 4 clubs with triple Senior status.  (Note that there are just 8 Senior Ladies Football clubs).

These are:

Ballyboden St Endas
Na Fianna
Naomh Mearnog
St Brigids.

Next year, St. Sylvesters joins this even more select band.
