Three wins and a loss in adult football

The senior team fought out a very good win against a determined St Brigids 2-10 to 0-13 at Blanchardstown to build on the recent draw at Marys. Next up is Trinity Gaels on Saturday evening at Broomfield. The Intermediates had an easier win 1-15 to 0-6 over Finians of Newcastle, the Junior 1 team won well over St Vincents 0-11 to 0-6 and the Juinior 2 team lost I think.

There was a small travelling support to watch the seniors at Blanch. Although Brigids seemed taller all round the field and outfielded us early, our backs were strong and organised, we moved the ball quickly and lead by 2-3 to 0-2 after about 20 minutes. Darren even shaved the outside of the post with another goal effort that would have nearly closed it out. Brigids came into the game a little but we contained them to 3 points, one from play.The second half seemed to desend into a series of unnecessary frees and very little of the flowing football of the first half.

Dominic looked top class on high balls, the full line of David Keogh(Adam Keanay at about 50 minutes), Cian and Brian McGurk(two great high breaks) kept the forwards at a safe distance, Campers, David Galvin (impressively kept his cool) and Airy (super second half), Ross Hazely and Dermot Kinsella (we benefited from him not starting for Wexford) Hacker, Shane O'Connor (getting better all the time)  Eoin Bennis (man of the match display), Eoin Fanning (looked really sharp), Aiden (couple of classic Aido points) and Darren Clarke (great to see him back), Ronnie Carroll (came in late and contributed a good point).
