U10 footballers hosted Mungret St Pauls
Sylvester's U10's footballers finished off the season last weekend by hosting a travelling party from Mungret St Paul's club in Limerick who stopped off for a couple of challenge matches in Malahide before heading on to do the Croke Park stadium tour. The sight of the 30 kids in Limerick jerseys invading Broomfield didn't faze our lads who went on to give a great display of freescoring football.
The first game ended in a comprehensive
win for the locals while in the other game a spirited 2nd half
performance saw the Syls lads edge a close match. Afterwards it was back
to the clubhouse for some tea, sandwiches, cakes and buns and all sorts
of goodies - many thanks to all the parents and helpers who made sure
the Mungret lads went away well fed !! All in all a very enjoyable day
and as Mungret extended an invitation for a rematch we are already
planning our visit to Limerick in the springtime.
