U12 C Footballers win Whitehall Tournament

Congratulations to the U12 C footballers who took part in the inaugural C team tournament hosted by Whitehall on Wednesday evening. This was a 4 team tournament for C teams within the U12 leagues

Our Cs have been going really well all season suffering only one league defeat (when their opponents played their A players against them and we still only barely lost). Many of the players have played for the B team at times and most are capable of making the jump up and this team play a fantastic brand of smart, attacking football, supporting the man and playing off fast ball. They also let little past them! The performance of the team shows the benefits of training all our 4 teams together as a squad as they are developing very fast.

We lost the first game to Fingallians in a terribly low scoring game 0-2 to 0-3 and we kicked at least 20 wides! Obviously shooting was not practised over the summer break. However we won well against strong teams from Whitehall and Na Fianna and with Whitehall beating Fins we won the tournament on scoring difference.

Well done to all the players involved. There were some stand out performances from wing backs Daire de Burca and Craig McGrattan but in truth all 15 played well and added to the teaqm performance.
