U12 Football – 3 Wins and a good training session
The most important thing this year has been the amount of players who have come up from the B team and stamped their mark.
With most of the B team now having tasted A football the B team is strong and a match for many A squads. Brigids B’s beat us last year but there was never going to be a repeat of that and playing the open, attractive football that is a hallmark of this team they ran out 6-08 to 3-01 winners. The B team still sit proudly on top of Division 3 but have a number of hard games to come, however with 15 ‘A’ players playing elsewhere there is a great strength in depth to the squad.
The C’s are also top of their Division after a comfortable win over Fingallians B’s (7-04 to 2-02). Like the B team they are unbeaten in the league and are going from strength to strength as they are getting lots of games together and playing in their strongest positions.
The D team had a bye this weekend but 9 lads came along to train under Ciaran Meehan while the other matches were being played. These extra sessions (another one next Saturday for the non-hurlers) will bring these players on quickly and we expect them to start moving up through the C panel and achieving their potential.
