U12 footballers at 'Stade de Bridgefild'

On a Sunny evening in the 'stade de Bridgefild' St Sylvester's U12's took on St Finians. The first 10 mins was tight and then flood gates opened. 3 goals and 2 points scored by midfield wizard Liam 'Messi' shalloe and a solid up and down the field performance by Sean 'the engine' O'Donnell meant that on this day Syls would be hard to beat.

St Sylvester's 3 U12's Vs St Finians 2 U12's 7-6 2-3
Adam 'the wiz' Reilly with 1 goal and 3 points was in great form as was his other forward partner Mark Mitchell with a great 1 goal and 1 point - he just cant stop scoring. Another great point was scored from 35 yards by Daniel Crowthers.

The highlight of the evening was a wonder goal. Late in the second half, just when you thought the ball was heading over the end line Barry 'the golden boot' Markey let fly and the ball ended up in the back of the net - looping and swerving over the keeper at an impossible angle. The last time we saw a goal like that was done by 'Van Basten' of Holland.

All through the game Syls had solid brick wall defense consisting of Jamie Costello, Michael 'nothing getting by me' Barrett and Paul Finn. In the half back we had Stephen 'i can run forever' Lowe and John Clifford. With great catching by Sammy 'the hammer' Murphy and link up play with Jack Hennessy, Aaron Walsh, Cathal Rainey and Peter Murphy St Finians struggled to make an impact on the game.

David ' de gea' Seagrave was our keeper & was in great form with his kick outs, starting most moves . One star player was missing who would have loved to be playing and scoring was Cillian Jennings who broke his arm last weekend - Get well soon Cillian.

Team: David Seagrave, Sam Murphy, Paul Finn, Mark Mitchel, Michael Barrett, Stephen Lowe, Daniel Crowthers, Jack Hennessy, Adam Reilly, Cathal Rainey, Sean O'Donnell, Jaime Costello, John Clifford, Aaron Walsh, Liam Shalloe, Barry Markey, Peter Murphy, Cillian Jennings (inj),

Final Score: Sylvester's 7-6 / St Finians 2-3
