U13 and U16 hurlers both win tight one

ur first good win in a while and certainly a great way to start the new league. Simon Owens was immense at centre back, as was Karl, Sean and Gavin at full back. Playing with the wind in the first half, Collie Boran showed a bit of guile in going for goal off a 21

U13 Div2 St Sylvesters 3-5 Scoil Ui Chonail 1-9

Our first good win in a while and certainly a great way to start the new league. Simon Owens was immense at centre back, as was Karl, Sean and Gavin at full back. Playing with the wind in the first half, Collie Boran showed a bit of guile in going for goal off a 21 and caught Scoil napping. Collie also hit 4 point off frees and Kelvin a smashing one on the run. Eoin Kennedy droped a ball under the bar to leave us 2-5 to 0-5 at the break. Scoil had a few big lads playing up the middle and the second half was always going to be difficult for us but, in reality, we probably had as much of the play and were unlucky with a few scoring opportunities before Kennedy again goaled when our lead was at one. Great all round effort, some good hurling and brave defending. Well done.
