U13 Footballers two good wins

The under 13s A and B teams had 2 good wins on tuesday evening, the A team travelled to cuala and after some wayward shooting and a nervous period in the second half managed to close out the game and won comfortably in the end on a score line of 5-20 to 4-4.

Daniel denneher and Daniel brennan showed great stamina to come out and put in 2 excellent performances having earlier in the day played in the secondary school semi final, also very impressive in a tough game was Mikey Dowling Dennis o Brien Ben o Neill and jack Whelan on a night that everyone played their part luke Gibson made a very big impact from the bench to kick 2 great points at a time when it was very much needed. Colm Casey stole the show though with a very industrious performance that was rewarded late on with 2 assists and a great goal to cap a great performance.

The B team had a very impressive win in bridge field against fingallians first team with eye catching performances from the butler twins, in a defence well controlled all night by Rian Macarthy and Ciaran Shiel syls were always in control but had to wait till the second half to finally put the game to bed, Robert manzenilla looked very impressive in midfield while Joseph Haughey chipped in and managed to get on the scoresheet with a well taken goal, highlight of the night though must go to Niall Mahon who pulled off one of the best saves seen in bridge field for many a year while the game was still in the melting pot. Syls ran out deserving winners on a score line of 2-8 to 0-3, well done to all and it sets us all up well for games at the weekend.
