U15 girls at Christine Bollard 7's
Syls Girls Under 15's played in the Christine Bollard 7 a side Tournament in St.Maurs last Saturday competing against teams from all over the north county and beyond. In what was a very enjoyable day, the girls performed very well coming second in their group with only one defeat to Donaghmore-Ashbourne by one point in a very tight game.
Let's just say the girls felt that lady luck wasn't shining on us in this game as posts, crossbars and some dodgy umpiring didn't help us. In the semi-final we came up against the hosts St.Maurs where we had a great game but lost out by a goal in the end. Maurs then went on to beat
Donaghmore-Ashbourne well in the final. However, we didn't leave empty handed as we received many compliments for our style of play during the Tournament and Anna Brennan was voted Player of the Tournament. Well done Anna and to all who participated. We would like to express our appreciation to Maurs for the invitation and for hosting a very successful day.
