U16s win over strong Ballymun

U16 Div2 Ballymun Kickhams 3-13 St Sylvesters 5-9. Syls U16A continued the season in winning form with a hard fought battle against Ballymun Kickhams. Initially the match was scheduled to be played in Albert College Park, but as the pitches were not playable it was switched to Ballymun Kickhams home ground on the All Weather pitch.

Ballymun came out of the blocks at full tilt and started pulling away from Syls keeping a fair share of the came at the wrong end of the pitch.  But Syls came back with a couple of points and Simon Owens scoring three goals to leave us ahead at half time.

The second half was very hard fought with both teams showing periods of dominance.  In the end Syls defence with the had to pull out all the stops to hold onto the lead.

Well done Syls to a spirited performance.
