U9 hurlersdo well at Rush

The U9 hurlers made a visit to Rush on Saturday to take on a very good St Maurs side who had won most of their matches this season. Both games were extremely close but in the end Syls ended just on top though Maurs played mush of the better hurling.
There were a few standout performers for Syls, Sean Guidan in midfield was perpetual motion and won some great possesion. Daire de Burca was calmness and solidity personified on the goal and Conor Hoyne, after a very poor start, recovered to score 1-1. Euan Farquarson did all the simple things well and battled throughout. In the second match Ollie Twomey showed he is capable of a huge performance when he puts his mind to it, Killian Bousfield was an able deputy who grabbed a crucial goal and Conor O'Brien continues to improve game by game. Craig McGrattan loves to tackle and never gives up, a defender forwards hate.
We take a break for a couple of weeks but wiil continue to train.
