Under 14 Girls - Last Chance Saloon for 2009!

Following the recent inclement weather our Under 14 Girls will at last contest their final match of the season against Kilmacud Crokes on the all weather pitch in Clann na Gael, Ringsend, at 11.30am on Sunday 29th November. The girls need a win on Sunday to tie for League honours - a fantastic achievement at this level.

League table for U-14 Division 1

Team                 P  W  L  D  Pts

Kilmacud Crokes   6  6   0  0  12

St Sylvesters       6  5   1  0  10

Win, loose or draw it's been their best season in terms of performance since coming together as Under 10's in 2005. In the intervening period they have won 3 Shields and 1 League, with perhaps the Shield win last

year following a replay against Clontarf being the 'Sweetest of Them All'. This season they topped their group in the under 14 Feile on their 'home' patch in Broomfield and then lost out to Kilmacud in the Semi-Final. Yet five days later and in true Syl's spirit they defeated the Dublin Feile and subsequent All Ireland Champions, Ballyboden in Broomfield, with a most stirring performance and a never say die attitude! Most recently they were most unlucky to loose to a closely contested Championship Semi-Final against Clontarf. The team readily acknowledge the contribution of some of our Under 13 stars over the season - a very long season since our opening match on the 3rd April!

We also congratulate team members Kim White and Emer Treacy o representing the Under 14 Dublin team in winning a Leinster

Championsip against Meath, only to loose out in the All Ireland Semi Final against Cork.

Best of Luck Girls!

Eddie & Ann O'Mordha, Geraldine Reilly, Declan Hetherton, Martin Treacy and all parents and supporters.
