Under 15s on a roll

The Under 15 footballers have turned their season around with back-to-back wins in the Division 5 (revised) league. On Tuesday evening at the Castle, Syls emerged 7-11 to 2-8 winners over Cuala with unquestionably the team’s best performance so far.

Corner-forward Shane Cronin was on fire in an explosive start that saw him fire home four goals in the opening 15 minutes before Cuala knew what had hit them. Senan McNulty was another to impress with some magnificent fielding and his all-round work ethic was replicated right through the team, especially when Cuala came more into the game in the second-half. Evan Reid was solid in goal, Cathal O’Hara stuck to his task well at corner-back and a strong half-back line of Ben Ryder, Mark O’Hara and Ciarán Casey provided the launchpad for many of Syls’ attacks. Cathal Haughey was his now customary towering presence around centrefield. A good win and some added momentum heading into next Tuesday’s match with Na Fianna. Well done lads!
