Good win for seniors over Cuala

AFL1 St Sylvesters 3-18 Cuala 1-09 Probably a fair reflection of this game, we came out of the blocks quickly against a strong wind and knocked over a string of points and seemed to be moving faster and more decisively than I had previously noticed. Alan Foy and Gary were running hard up the middle, long balls from Ed to Micháel and Conor Meaney also a feature. Ross blocked a clearance and solo'ed through for a goal that gave us a six point half time lead.

Defensively we looked impressive, Fionn back at the full spot in the absence of Conor, John Peacock very quick on the ball and looking very strong, Scrappy was in great form on the wing, Ciaran Roche also very impressive linking backs and forwards.

Mick Shiels made a couple of excellent saves again and was unlucky with the Cuala penalty.

An impressive performance with a style that is very encouraging and has us competing for a top four spot.
