Hurlers draw in championship
SHC B Naomh Olaf 1-08 St Sylvesters 1-08 Great fighting second half display almost got us the win only for two late frees to pull us back. The first half was a repeat of the Vincents game. We gave up a softish goal, Olafs hit a few nice points and we responded with lots of good hurling but spoiled by poor shooting, finishing 1-05 to 0-03 at the break.
We came out with a different attitude in the second half and reeled off four points in a row. A Collie Byrne free went straight to the net, Martin Ormonde cleered some of the path, and we led by two but a tem minute pahse where we failed to convert our chances gave olafs the opportunity to pull us back with two late frees.
Great fighting spirit, especially in the second half, but we need to score more than 1-08 if we hope to see sight of silverware in this competition.
Collie Byrne had a great game contributing 1-05, Simon hit two and Eoin Mc the other.
Great to see Syls support at the game, we had at least as many as the home side.
