Hurlers flying high

AHL3 St Sylvesters 2-15 St Peregrines 2-09 Big win for the hurlers over a previously unbeaten Peregrines in a good game in Broomfield. A feature of the team this year is the strength in depth we seem to have built up. I asked Lenny last night who he thought had played well and he said everyone and, for once, I agreed with him. Anthony Dunne again pulled off an incredible save, nice to hear the Peregrines guy congratulate him to which Anthony replied ' sure I didn't even see it', good reactions, bodes well.

The game was delayed early on as a Peregrines lad appeared to suffer a broken leg and ambulance took him to hospital. We wish him well and hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Brendán looked like a veteran at corner back, as does Paul Christy who is literally flying in the other corner, Graham Morris gave a very assured performance at full back against a strong opponent, Kevin Clarke, Enda, back from injury replacing the out of luck Daragh (broken thumb last Wednesday) and Kevin McLoughney all hurled well in the half line, Andrew Richardson was back to his very best in the middle, and well supported by Alan and later by Killian. Conor Meaney, Kevin O'Flynn and Colm Byrne is a strong scoring half forward line while Fionn, Martin Ormonde (2-06 today including one particularly impressive catch and goal in the first half) and Alan Kenny have all brought a new dimension to our forward play with high fielding and strong running.

Nockser came in and scored two quick points, Conor Dwyer made his senior debut and we had plenty of talent on the line in Colm Boran, Eoin Kennedy, Killian Haverty from the minors all ready to play.

Well done.
