Hurlers open with a win

Corn Ceitean St Sylvesters 2-18 Na Fianna 1-09 Solid all round display on a cold windy afternoon in Broomfield. We had the wind in our backs in the opening half and took full advantage, Simon in particular in good form with some great fielding and a goal and a few points. Diarmuid McCarthy lording the middle and well supported by Alan Kenny, the half back line of Killian O'Flynn, Conor Ryan and Dave McElligot well on top and we led 2-12 to 0-04 at the break.

The second half was lively with Na Fianna getting back a little but never enough to threaten our lead. Great to see Martin Ormonde going well at centre forward, Collie Byrne hit some lovely points, Stephen Keogh caught a few high balls and Kevin McLoughney also showed well.

Good start for the new management team of Declan Morris, Dave McBride, Pat Keogh and new coach Richie Foley.
