Information Night on 20th October at 8pm

The Executive of St Sylvester’s invite members to an Information Night on 20th October at 8pm to outline the current status of the clubs Development Plans. With the huge increase in playing membership, especially across juvenile boys and girls, the club must have robust plans in place for future development.

This meeting will focus on a number of areas including addressing the concerns of members over Bridgefield, correcting the rumours and misinformation that are circulating and outlining the plan to ensure that there are sufficient training and playing facilities for all players of all codes and of both sexes.

We would note the following:

-The club currently cannot provide facilities for all its teams and is now expending significant resources weekly, hiring facilities from other clubs and associations;

-We are allocated Bridgefield on an annual basis by Fingal County Council;

-After the development work we will continue to have our 2 pitches in Bridgefield;

-Fingal are proposing to upgrade the playing surfaces in Bridgefield including drainage work and goal mouth treatment, this will allow us to use the pitches far more often during the winter;

-The clubs future in Bridgefield will be copper fastened and secured in to the future;

-Fingal are upgrading our other pitch at the back of the Castle and providing us with a further pitch;

-John Paul National School does not have a playing pitch, Fingal have committed to finding a space close to the school grounds to locate a GAA pitch for the schools use;

-We are being granted a 35 year lease on the lands in Broomfield which will allow us to apply for grants to upgrade them, upgrade our dressing rooms and maximise the playing area. A full plan of the Broomfield GAA Campus will be available on the night;

-The club has no position on the proposed Tree Top Walk, it is outside our remit as a GAA Club to comment on it
