Junior Hurlers into league playoffs

AHL6: Syls 2-14 O'Tooles 2-13 Sunday 28th Sept 2014 Broomfield Hillary was the hero with an injury time long-long range point from a free that dropped nicely over the bar. To prove it wasn't a fluke (we never doubted ya ) he already had 2 points ! chalked up from similar positions. Philip Browne scored a goal in each half, a touch of luck about the first, a touch of class about the second,

when he plucked the sliotar from the sky, turned and blasted to the net. Johnny Conway contributed 4 nice points from play, the last one at a critical stage to draw us level. Barry Kiely and Fergus chipped in with a point as piece, Derek Morris floated over another long range point and Colm Boran completed the scoring with 4 frees.

Not to forget our defenders who coped admirably, particularly in the first half conceding only 6 points (3 frees). A soft goal in the 2nd half gave O'Tooles a lift and when some serious defending was needed, Ian, Ronan, Des, Brendan, Conor and Barry were well up to the task. Despite the scary finish we more than deserved the victory and the one point win was enough to put us in the league play-offs.
