Junior Hurlers snatch victory from the jaws of defeat
The Kevins line were bewildered and rightly so, as no one (except Gregg maybe! ) is quite sure how this happened. Syls trailed 1-12 to 0-5 with little over 10 minutes remaining. And although we went on the mini scoring spree of 1-4, to leave just 3 points between the teams, Kevins responded with 2 points to put it back out to 1-14 to 1-9 and the chance seemed lost. In a hectic closing 5 minutes, David Kennedy, Gregg and Stephen Keogh conjured up 1-2 between them but Kevins tacked on 2 points leaving 2 points in it and again the chance seemed lost. In injury time Hilary launched a long range missile into the square and somehow Gregg got the all important touch (pure skill he assures me) to find the net....followed by.... puckout....final whistle....game over...Syls by a point.... 3-11 to 1-16
Two home games remaining and still in with a chance of making league play-offs
