Louise Ryan wins Ladies All Ireland U21 with Dublin

Louise Ryan playing at midfield played a starring role as Dublin went undefeated in all six matches of the competition to reach the final against arch opponents Galway. Louise displayed all round class and her distribution and use of the ball was excellent throughout.

The match had echoes of the All Ireland minor final of two years ago as many key players from both sides again faced each other in sun drenched Portmarnock. On the previous occasion Galway edged home against the run of play in the ninth minute of injury time!
Today's match saw a superb come back from Dublin. They scored two points at the death to bring the contest to a shoot out from the thirty yard line. With five frees taken by both sides the teams were level on two points each. Dublin's sixth free glided over and Galway failed in their attempt. Another All Ireland medal for a Syls player. Congrats Louise.

syls had double honours as our own Niamh MvEvoy was part of the Dublin management team . Together with Sorcha Furlong also from the Dublin senior team, Niamh proved an able assistant to Gregory McGonagle's management team.
