It is with great sadness that we learnt this morning of the passing of former Dublin LGFA vice-chairperson Mick Walsh (RIP).
Indeed Mick over the years held several positions on the Dublin Executive Committee while also playing a major role in raising much needed funds for the County Board.
His organisation of the annual Golf Classic was legendary as Mick had a certain talent for cajoling people into supporting the event saying no to him was not an option but he always went about his work in a jovial manner.
Mick was also highly instrumental in setting up the Ladies section in his beloved Naomh Mearnog club he was often seen running along the side lines out in Portmarnock encouraging the Mearnog girls in his own unique way.
In 2008 Mick was the proud recipient of the Dublin LGFA Hall of Fame award for his services to Dublin Ladies Gaelic football. He will be sadly missed by us all, Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam
Everyone involved in Dublin LGFA would like to offer our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his family, friends and all the members of Naomh Mearnog GAA club.
Funeral arrangements to follow
