Minor B Hurlers go top of Div5
The Minor B hurlers had a hard fought victory over Wild Geese this morning
to go top of Div 5. Oldtown is never an easy place to go and we looked
unsettled early on as the forwards wasted quite a few good chances. However
Daniel Mannix fired in a goal which kept us in the game and after a tough
first half against the breeze we only trailed by a point at the
break
Aaron Lynch was outstanding in goals and there were fine contributions from Ben O'Neill and Robbie O'Brien in the full back line. In the second half we upped the work rate and as the Butler brothers came more into the game and chipped in with invaluable scores we eventually started to get on top. Despite conceding a goal against the run of play late on we got the rewards we deserved when a couple of classy scores from Brian Murray and a long range point from captain Colm Casey towards the end sealed it. Final score 2:14 to 2:11
