Senior Hurlers freeze against Marnog
Cup QF replay Syls 0-09 Nmh Marnog 2-07 Well, maybe the lads didn't quite freeze but the rest of us sure did. Marnógs raced into a commanding lead with a strong cold wind and rain in their backs, two 'unfortunate' goals from our perspective giving them a 2-07 to 0-05 point lead at half time. We scored the last three scores of the half, however, and came our fighting after the break.
Unfortunately Casey only half hit a penalty and the goal that would have given us momentum alluded us - that reads badly, I think I need a ghost writer, any offers?.
Anyway, as the conditions worsened, the wind dropped and the rain turned to sleet and then to snow, we picked off our points but never got the goal we needed.
What a lousy day for hurling and well done to both sets of players for a sporting game.
