Senior hurlers lose at Raheny
AHL2 : Raheny 1-16 St Sylvesters 1-13. (St Annes, Saturday 18th April) After a sluggish start , Syls recovered well to go in at HT just 3 points down 1-6 to 1-9, Colm Byrne the chief scorer with 1-5. During the 2nd half, we had a mini purple patch with 3-in-a-row from play, the pick of which was a fine high catch and point from Simon and although we never dominated Syls found themselves just a point in arrears with 6 minutes to go and all to play for.
A few sloppy frees gave the initiative back to Raheny who pushed the margin to 3 and left us chasing chasing a goal which never came. Overall Raheny moved the ball a bit quicker and smarter than us and it told in the end.
