Seniors qualify for Top4 in AFL1
AFL1 Ballyboden 0-12 St Sylvesters 0-12 A result that will hardly please Plunketts ER as the draw sees both Syls and Boden make the playoffs at their expense, ironically against each other in Broomfield next Sunday 11.00am. To be fair it would be difficult to 'conspire' a draw, especially on the pitch at Sancta Maria which has a 'summer' bounce which we found very difficult to master. Syls came from three points down in the last 5 minutes with scores from Gary Sweeney, Nigel Dunne and Aiden Relihan (great to see Aido save the day and show he still has plenty to affer at this level).
John Coughlan had a very lively game in the middle (scored the 9th point, a great solo effort after one of hit trademark catches), Glenn was probably our 'man-of-the-match', up and down the right wing like a train, Finno was lucky and brilliant in keeping a clean sheet when Boden seemed certain to goal, and Eugene in particular was lively up front.
