U15 Championship Win, U16 Footballers, Gala Night and Christmas Party
U15A Footballers
Congratulations to the U15 footballers and management team on winning the County A Football Championship on Sunday with a comprehensive victory over Ballyboden. More details will follow on the club website in the coming days. This is the second time in 3 years our club have won this competition and a huge reflection on the progress being made. The objective of refreshing managements teams as they enter competitive age groups has certainly worked handsomely - this group is continuing to enjoy success given the brilliant coaching and foundations they benefitted from all the way back to the academy.
U16 Footballers
Both teams completed their final games in the juvenile boys section this weekend – it is fantastic to see more than 40 players continuing to participate at this age level. At the start of the season we were concerned about the viability of fielding two teams, however our objective is to maximise the numbers of players who would continue into minor grades to continue to strengthen this vital age group. Thankfully we have managed to pull this off with extra resource volunteering to keep this group together.
Christmas Party – Saturday 10th December
Reminder that we will be hosting this event 10th December to acknowledge the contribution of so many people and to thank you all in a small way.
Please make a big effort to attend this event so that we can share time collectively together – please also bring along those who have contributed during the year.
Gala Night
Finally – many thanks to those who made the Gala Night a huge success on Saturday. The funds raised from this event will be used in the next few weeks to install floodlighting at Broomfield pitch 2. We hope to sign contracts for this work in the next couple of days.
It is incredible to see so many people from the juvenile sections supporting this event so strongly and so generously – including a number of substantial private donations.
