U15s big wins in football and hurling

The U15 hurlers and footballers finally got their seasons started albeit after 4 games each! It's a big change from last year and we have struggled at times, Division 1 is unforgiving. The hurlers played Ballyboden on Thursday, coming into the game having realised the gap between Division 1 and 2 and against a team on a roll of 42 straight victories including the last 2 leagues and Feile,

We knew that nothing more than full commitment could lead to a heavy defeat. In the end of a full blooded match we were pegged back level with 10 to go but somehow found the desire to push on and get 1-1. Final result of 3-8 to 14pts was no more than we deserved. Up and running in Division 1 and a chance of making our goal of retaining that level for 2017. Fair dues to Ballyboden who were very magnanimous on the night.

The footballers came off of a late draw against Ballyboden to face last years league and Feile Champions, Whitehall. Playing against the wind we conceded a soft goal to turn 1-5 to 0-5 down but the match was there for us. We quickly drew level but then conceded a goal against the run of play to give ourselves a lot of work to do. The tackle count was upped and we greated a load of chances through great attacking football, running out winners 3-14 to 3-06.

Wins on the board finally in both codes and finding form in time for Championship.
