USA J1 Sanctions
Dear Secretary, I refer to J1 Sanctions etc for playing in USA during the summer. The rule [Rule 6.11 (v)] states that a player who has received a Sanction shall not be eligible to play again with his Club in Ireland for the 30 days after the date of approval of his Sanction in Croke Park……..
Following the tragic events in Berkeley, California, I have received some calls enquiring if a sanction could be revoked as a number of players were considering returning to Ireland immediately as they were, understandably, very distressed from the incident.
In this exceptional heart-rendering circumstance I have requested Central Council to waive the 30 day exclusion period and facilitate a player, who was in California, to resume playing with his club if he returns home and only on receipt of a request in writing. I anticipate a favourable response.
