Junior C Championship: St Sylvesters 0-15, Kilmacud Crokes 0-9, Silverpark A lively start by Crokes coupled with a slow start by Syls gave Crokes 0-7 to 0-1 lead after 18 minutes. Jody had opened the scoring with a nice point after good work by Colly, dodging 3 players to setup the chance. However Crokes responded emphatically with their skillful numbers 13 & 14 striking some lovely points in a purple patch giving them a commanding lead. But up stepped Pat Hoyne . . .

. . . (Vice-Chairman) who rattled off 4 points in a row to steady the ship and get Syls back in contention. Johnny Conway popped over another to leave us trailing by just 1 point at HT 0-7 to 0-6 after a shaky start.

Syls found their rhythm in the 2nd half and although the teams exchanged 2 points each early on, Syls pressed on again and this time Crokes were unable to respond as Syls tagged on a succession of points, Pat added another 2 to his tally, Johnny added a brace, Eoin Kennedy and Claude a point each and Colm contributed 2x65s and a free. Defensively we were vastly improved in the second half, David Kennedy delivered long puckouts and was very assured under high ball. Ronan, Killian Haverty & Derek tightened things up on the half back line and the full line of Ian, Des and EoinMc got the measure of those skillfull Crokes lads. Crokes were confined to just 2 points in that 2nd half which paved the way for the win.
A win in the last round-robin game will put us into Q/F, Syls v Judes Tuesday 15th Broomfield.

Special mention for Dave McElligott, who hails from Carlow I gather ( we won't hold it against ya) who marked his debut with Syls with a tireless performance in mid-field, some strong tackling and great touch, a very welcome addition to the squad. Fáilte.
