Win and a draw in Junior Hurling

AHL6 Sunday 29th March 2015 Pairc Ui Bhriain Nh Olaf 1-9 v Syls 1-9 Conditions underfoot very poor in spots and a strong wind made the going very difficult. In the end we were relieved with the draw, but felt it was a game we could have won, probably took the wrong option a few times, going for goal when a point was on offer, but hindsight is wonderful. Hilary and Conor Dwyer saved the day with a couple of late points.

Mickey Meaney (Minor) playing in his first game for this team gave a very assured display at wing back, well done Mikey.

AHL9 Sun 29th March 2015 Broomfield    Syls 1-9    v   St Monica’s 1-8

Two wins out of two for this  new adult hurling team. 2 nice points from Phil Browne and Paul Ryan in the first half playing against a very strong breeze kept the margin to 4  at HT .  They  proved to be very important scores in the end.  Syls came into it more in the 2nd half with some fine scores from  Eoin Kennedy, Colm Boran and a well taken goal by Fergus that put us 4 up . Despite some stout defending by Eoin Manning, Des and Ciaran,   Monica’s hit us with 1-1 to level it  but Eoin Kennedy had the final say with his third point of the day to give us a deserved  win.
