Ladies impressive in League win
They were well supported by the rest of the team and the substitutes that came on. The off the ball running was excellent and the player in possession invariably had passing options in plenty. The runs and passes made by Nicole and Sinead in particular were a joy to behold but everyone on the team played a good running, passing and support play game. Allied to that was the stout defending with close marking throughout the field and good reading of the game resulting in some fine interceptions. In the absence of Dave McEvoy who was away on business the team was very capably managed on the night by Declan Barnes and Anthony Keogh; thanks lads. Unfortunately, centre back Ciara Lynch picked up what looked like a serious knee injury and had to be carried off the field. We wish her a speedy recovery. Scorers for St. Sylvester's were Nicole Owens 5-2; Sinead Aherne 2-6 (3 frees), Katie Slattery 0-6, Niamh McEvoy 0-3, Anne Clarke 1-0, Emer Treacy 1-0, Emma Lynch 0-2, Niamh Harney 0-1. Next fixture is away to Clann Mhuire, Naul, Wed 16th at 7.00pm.
