Footballers let it slip to Boden
AFL1 Very disappointing, we lost by three after leading for most of the game and generally looking the stronger team. Gary Sweeney gave a master class in the first half with a goal and five points, Ross was again a tower of strength in the middle, this time well supported by a more active Stephen Cunningham, Alan Foy made some great runs late on but a good move to create a goal at the death was weekly executed and Boden survived to gain the win.
Good start to 2016 for Stephen Cunningham
Stephen Cunningham (Aka Scooby) has been nominated for a Fingal Indo / Maldron Hotel Sports Star Award
Remembering 2005 Feile
A good crowd showed up to remember the famous All Ireland Feile win ten years ago. Four of the team are currently playing senior football and many more on the Inter and Junior teams. Joe Burke gave me a copy oof the video and I will post it soon.
Senior Footballers nice win at Portrane
St V de P Cup St Pats Donabate 1-10 St Sylvesters 4-13 First competitive game of the season and an impressive outring, scoring freely and only giving up scores late on. Mick Shields made a number of very good one-on-one saves, Dylan Connolly had an impressive busy debut at wing back, Gary Sweeney and Mick McCarthy were in form up front. We had some nice passing movements and overall had a good outing
Seniors run Crokes close
AFL1 St Sylvesters 1-10 Kilmacud Crokes 1-12 A soft early goal and missed chances in the first half were our downfall in this senior league game in Broomfield. It took us a while to settle but we recovered to trail by four at the break. The second half was much better from our perspective, we mostly controlled the game, Mark Hazely gave an exhibition of free taking but all too often our attack broke down through being dispossed or errant passing and we didn't take on enough scores to get at least a draw we would have deserved.

Syls Seniors Football continue good run in AFL1
AFL 1 St Sylvester’s 3-15 Clontarf 0-05 Our men’s senior team kept up their recent good run of results going with a comprehensive win of over division 1 newcomers Clontarf in Broomfield last night. The visitors started brightly with two quick points but once out lads got into their stride it was all one way traffic. We got two goals either side if half time through Alan Foy and Gary Sweeney that put a real gap between the teams that Clontarf were never able to come close to closing.
