Another impressive win for the Ladies

The Ladies footballers contrinued on their winning way with another comprehensive win away to Clann Mhuire, The Naul, on Wednesday night, winning on a scoreline of 6-12 to 2-6. The mixture of youth and experience worked well again. Anne Clarke put in a player of the match performance, constantly making herself available for passes and taking up intelligent defensive positions when the opposition had the ball.

Louise Ryan provided solid support to Niamh McEvoy at midfield, scoring a goal in the process. Niamh Harney defended well at corner back and made several telling runs upfield. Emer Treacy was very effective at wing forward, with the young Lisa Murphy not far behind on the other wing. Nicole Owens ran the show up front during the first half and combined with Sinead Aherne (who came on just before half time) for the second half. Michelle Walls, normally a defender, also played remarkably well in the full forward line, scoring 1-3 and creating at least two more goal scoring opportunities.

Scorers for St. Sylvester's were Nicole Owens 2-2; Michelle Walls 1-3, Sinead Aherne 1-3 (2 frees), Emer Treacy 1-0, Louise Ryan 1-0, Niamh McEvoy 0-2 (1 free), Katie Slattery 0-1, Lisa Murphy 0-1. Next fixture is Cup v Clann Mhuire, Broomfield, Wed 23rd at 7.30pm.
