Club notes 25th Nov

We send sincere condolences to the Maguire family on the recent death of Noel, affectionately known as Bowwow, after a long illness, bravely borne. Noel and Terry have always been great supporters of St Sylvesters.

AFL1 semi-final

St Sylvester’s 1-17 Ballyboden St Endas 2 -14

The last minute goal for Ballyboden in extra time earned them a draw. The ball rolled along the ground and appeared to be played by hand into the goal and so we must do it all again. It was a day of last minute heart breaking scores. Let’s be there to support them next time. They deserve it.

The minor hurlers were defeated by Lucan Sarsfields in the championship semi-final. It was a great battle by both teams with Lucan getting the first half goals that ultimately won the game. All our players gave their all and there were some fantastic individual performances. It was a proud day and a great contest. Good luck to Lucan in the final.

The under 21 football team put up a very big score in their championship quarter-final victory over Castleknock. They are going along nicely.

The table quiz fund raiser on Friday was a very successful and enjoyable night. Thank you to all who attended and organised.

Congratulations to our bar manager Gary Penrose and his wife Niamh on the birth of their daughter Rebecca.
