Sylvester’s GAA Club notes (week of April 27th)
A busy week ahead on and off the playing pitch, with the Junior footballers facing St Maurs in Rush on Tuesday (7pm) and the Intermediate footballers in championship action on Friday evening against Ballymun Kickhams at Whitehall Colmcille’s ground in Cloghran (7pm).
There is also the launch in the clubhouse this coming Friday of the “Strictly Syls” fundraiser when 30 of St Sylvester’s finest will be paired-up for the Strictly Come Dancing spectacular, supported by the Carphone Warehouse, which takes place in the Regency Hotel on June 7th. There is an open invitation to members and players to come along to Friday’s launch in the clubhouse for what is a hugely important fundraiser for the club with tickets now on sale and the dancers in strict training for the big night.
Well done to the senior hurlers who got their championship campaign off to a great start with a two points win over Whitehall Colmcilles. The minor A footballers team also showed their character by recovering from a midweek loss to Skerries Harps to record a win on Sunday
against Whitehall Colmcilles and the Under 16Bs had their goal-scoring boots with them in impressively overcoming Parnells in the shield quarter-final.
Finally, very best of luck to our two Under 14 teams who are competing in Feile Peile na nOg this weekend
