U10 Hurlers play Skerries in Bridgefield

The U10 hurlers played Skerries in their second home match of the season last Saturday in Bridgefield. In the first match Syls battled hard with Darragh Boyne and Ryan O'Farrell to the fore. Barry Corcoran made some great saves while Darragh Murtagh scored a great goal for Syls while Willie Hackett was unlucky not to score only for his goal to be disallowed. There were other good performances from Cormac Nolan, Andrew McCullagh and Ollie MacLochlainn.

In the other match Skerries got off to a quick start and gained the upper hand in the first half. Cian Whitney made some fine saves while Elliott Lynch, Sam McSwiggan and Christian McDonald battled hard in defence. In the second half Syls upped their game led by Mathew Hughes and Oran Flannery in midfield and the forwards got more involved in the play. Syls scored some great points with a couple of points each from Cian Whitney and Gavin O'Neill while Mathew Hughes also scored from play. Other good performances from Cillian de Burca and Daniel Crampton who never gave up.

The overall result was a win for a good Skerries side but Syls showed some fine skills and great determination which will stand to them for later in the season.
