St Sylvester’s GAA club notes

Minor Hurling Championship Quarter Final St Sylvester’s 0-8 St Oliver Plunkett’s 2-10 This team has manager Eddie McLoughney’s stamp. They play with heart and passion and they have won two championships under him. They give their all and have given us great days to enjoy over the years. It takes a very good team to beat them and we congratulate Oliver Plunkett’s who were worthy winners today.

Many of these players will be playing in next Sundays Minor A Football Championship quarter final in Broomfield against Castleknock at 11.00am. Please come along and support them in this very important game. They never disappoint.

The under 21 hurlers also bowed out of the championship at the quarter final stage on to Parnell’s on Saturday.

St Oliver Plunkett’s school took home the silverware from Croke Park last week with victory over St Patricks of Hollypark in the final. The girl’s team also made it to the final but lost out to GS Chnoc Liamhna. The legend of Hugh Curran lives on.

The Big Splash and Dip or Syls fundraiser takes place on December 29th with a jump into the sea at Low Rock. Sponsorship cards are available in the club or from your team mentor.

The Lotto jackpot next week is €2,050 and would make a lovely Christmas surprise.
