St Sylvester’s GAA club notes 19th August

The big game this week is the adult ladies Intermediate Football Championship Final against Parnell’s next Friday evening August 24th at 7pm in Parnell Park. Please come along and support the girls. They are always a treat to watch.

The Intermediate hurlers had a brilliant hard fought win over Commercials in their championship encounter and they move on to the semi-final stage. They also put on another thriller on Saturday and finished level with Erins Isle. Darragh O Flaherty’s late and lovely point was cancelled out by an even later free to Parnell’s. The junior hurlers agonisingly lost out by a single point to Parnell’s in their championship match.

It’s a full week of football for all our adult teams this week with the senior team playing league matches away to Ballymun on Tuesday and home to Ballyboden on Saturday evening at 6.15pm. The intermediates are home to St Brigit’s also on Saturday in a great double bill.

The junior 7 football team have a series of very important matches coming up. They are in contention for the league and both cup competitions. First up they play Parnell’s in Broomfield in the league on Tuesday at 7pm.

All the fixtures are available on the website www.stsylvesters.ie

The historic fundraiser match for Nicky Cleere played in very wet conditions against Malahide Rugby Club was a great success. Many thanks to Malahide Rugby for hosting and taking part and there are unconfirmed reports that they won as well. Cathal O Donnell, please report.

This weeks Lotto jackpot is €1,250.
