St Sylvester’s GAA club notes 19th May

The senior, intermediate and junior A football teams have all qualified for cup semi-finals. The fourth team had a great win over Naomh Barrog in glorious sunshine in Malahide.

SHC B Erins Isles 1-17 St Sylvesters 1-14

A late goal by Isles was the key score in a very even and entertaining game. We came back really well after a slow start to lead coming towards the finish. This was one that got away. The junior hurlers won at home to keep their hopes alive.

MHL 2 Kilmacud Crokes 3-15 St Sylvester’s 4-14

Two late goals by Colm Byrne ensured the win and topped off an excellent display. It was also a very good all round team effort.

It’s hurling next week with the Intermediates at home to Thomas Davis on Wednesday and away to Judes on Saturday. The junior hurlers are at home to Skerries on Tuesday and away to St Brendan’s on Sunday.

St Oliver Plunkett’s girl’s football team won the Fingal Primary Schools League in fine fashion with victory over Skerries. See the excellent match report on www.stsylvesters.ie

Gary Penrose is doing a 50k walk over the Mourne Mountains for the charity Oxfam. He is running a table quiz next Friday May 24th. Please come along and support him.

Lists for tickets for the double header including Dublin V Westmeath on Saturday June 1st will close on Friday May 24th at 5pm.
