St Sylvester’s GAA club notes July 14th

Dublin became triple Leinster Champions with victories for the senior men and ladies football teams to add to the last week’s senior hurling win. Our own Sinead Aheane put the seal on the ladies win scoring a superb goal and a point at the start of the second half. Niamh McEvoy, back after serious injury, played her part coming on in the second half with her usual powerful runs at the opposing defence.

Senior footballer Eugene Keating contributed a point and another excellent performance for Cavan in their win over Fermanagh.

We thank Ryan Dwyer and Dotsy O’Callaghan for bringing the Bob O’Keefe trophy to Broomfield and generously posing for photos with young and old. It was a lovely simple occasion with smiles all round. The pictures tell the story. See photos on www.stsylvesters.ie

The minor hurlers get the team of the week award. They scored the last five points to earn a draw with St Jude’s in a great game. Well done Ronan. The senior and intermediate football teams had very impressive wins. The junior footballa team play Crokes at home on Sunday at 11,00am.

The intermediate hurlers had a great win away to Commercials. They have two important league games this week on Wednesday away to Castleknock and on Saturday away to Naomh Barrog. The junior hurlers play Crokes at home on Tuesday and Liffey Gaels away on Sunday at 11.00am.

Come out and enjoy great games and great weather this week and give yourself a treat.
